With only a few days off, little money and a desire to take a quick trip, I look for a cheap package. I need to go through the lists of vacation cheap packages. Being very open to where I go makes this treasure hunt even more exciting. I hope that everything will be bundled in the package.
I found it, a quick airplane trip from home. A city I have never visited, but would love to explore. The mile high city is calling my name. The package includes airfare, hotel, and car rental. When landing at the Denver airport I picked up my luggage and found the door to take me outside to catch the shuttle for my rental car. Leaving the airport, the excitement is building. I get to the rental site and find my car. The keys are inside the car and I am on my way to the hotel that is part of my package.
I had never heard of the hotel before, but I was not disappointed. It was located right off the highway making it easy to get to and easy for me to maneuver around the city. As we entered the front of the hotel, a long high staircase meets us, leading up to another floor. The front desk is off to the side of the staircase, thank goodness. Part of the package was a coupon for a free breakfast each morning of our stay. That was a surprise benefit that I had not planned on for this trip.
We get to our room and find that we have a lovely room on the seventh floor facing a beautiful wooded area, just what I need to relax for a few days. We unpack and get our maps out to go exploring. We flew in this morning, so we will not go far. We plan to visit the downtown area and ride the free bus throughout the area. Denver has a vibrant downtown area and there is no need to drive and look for parking when you can get on and off the bus at every corner. We had a blast walking the downtown. We get back to the car and take off for the Aquarium where we will view the sites and have dinner.
The first day was very busy, but we had a full schedule for the next day. We had our free breakfast before getting in the rental car headed for Golden, Colorado, just on the outskirts of the city. The drive was great, the air was crisp, and the trip was awesome. This trip was not costing much because it was one of the “vacation cheap packages,” advertising air, hotel, and car. I had an added bonus of a free breakfast each day of my stay. Sometimes you just have to check to see what is available before you resign yourself to staying home another boring weekend. I feel like a real jet setter, saving a money as I travel around.
