The Perfect Jamaican Vacation!
With children at home, planning an international vacation was going to be a hassle. I searched the Sunday paper until the right Jamaica vacation package appeared to me. It was perfect. The package allowed me to purchase airfare, hotel, and all-inclusive meals for me and the children. That meant once I paid for everything here I did not have to spend money in Jamaica except for souvenirs and any excursions I wanted to take. I had to pinch myself because the package had bundled everything I needed into one nice price. Transfers to and from the hotel were included. I quickly wrote out a budget to see how long it would take me to put away enough money to purchase my Jamaica vacation package.
I was pleasantly surprised that our trip started with an airplane ride on Air Jamaica from my home airport. I liked that; it was almost as if we got a head start on Jamaica, by riding in that plane. The Jamaican national anthem played as we were boarding. The beautiful flight attendants greeted us at the door as we loaded the plane, with their lovely Jamaican accents. It was nice that we could all fly together on the same plane and all sit together across the aisle from each other. The children had flown nationally before, but this flight was special.
Once we landed in Montego Bay, Jamaica, we had to go through customs. The lines moved along very quickly. Everyone had his or her own passport and we quickly found our luggage. In our paperwork from the travel agency, we had transportation tickets to the resort. We moved along with the crowd out into the area marked transportation. We found the brightly colored resort bus; the driver helped put our luggage on board and whisked us away to the hotel. We enjoyed our refreshing beverage. It was also part of the package deal.
Arriving at the resort, they had our room ready. The front desk gave us the times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As long as we ate at the buffet, there was no charge for any of the meals. On the way up to the seventh floor, the bellman explained that all of the water sports were free. All the children had to do was sign using the room number for the kayaks, towels, basketballs, and other items.
The ocean was just a few yards away from our balcony. We had a wonderful vacation and did not want it to end. There was reggae music playing as we had our meals. The children met other children from London, Brazil, and Tokyo. Days started early with a wonderful selection of foods from many countries plus local Jamaican cuisines. The evenings were full of festive music and people from all over the world were sitting at tables around us.
It was hard to believe that everything was included into our vacation, this vacation package was amazing! This was the perfect Jamaican vacation package!
