Having my oldest child in college in Hawaii gave me the perfect excuse to take the other children to Hawaii. Traveling to the island before, I knew that things were very expensive. Usually I spend time with my son, purchasing food at the local grocery store and preparing meals in his college housing apartment. Taking the other children over I was going to have to find a hotel. We needed airfare from my home city. We wanted to stay close to the college, but close to the beaches as well. The children were excited about spending time at the Waikiki beach. We got it all. Disembarking after landing in Oahu was simple. There was no customs, no passport to check, it was simply go get your luggage. The breezy tropical airport was beautiful first thing in the morning. After picking up the luggage, we found the transportation that matched our tickets in our package. The children were so excited. They were not talking. They were writing in their journals or taking pictures. This trip was off to a great start.
Arriving at the tropical resort, our luggage stayed with the bellman and we were directed to the busy front desk. Our vouchers for all of our meals were in our package with our keys. They gave us directions on how to find the services we received with our vacation package. They gave us schedules for the many teen activities that were a part of the package. We had our choice of using the free shuttle or taking a cab to the few events that did not take place at the hotel. We had a full schedule for the whole week. Our Hawaiian vacation package gave us more than we bargained for. Hawaii was awesome!
